The Beatles and talk radio
I am listening to the White Album now. Great album. That is the kind of music that I like. That and Elvis. More of an Elvis fan.. but I digress.. Cry baby Cry is a sad song.. If you do not have the music, I suggest that you download it(legally of course)..Helter Skelter is also a great song( Its about an amusement park ride, not murder) . I mostly listen to my entertainment these days. I listen to talk radio. I listen to Glenn Beck. I do not always agree with him, but I think that he is funny as hell. I listen to Rush Limbaugh. I also listen to Jerry Springer. I think that Jerry Springer is one of the most intelligent people on talk radio. I listen to Al Franken on Air America radio. I say the same about him that I do about Limbaugh. Don't always agree, but I like to listen to different opinions on political issues.
Not the greatest write
I have checked out some other blogs on the web, and I notice that a lot of the bloggers are much better writers than I am. Some are funny as hell, too. I am trying to learn how to be a better writer, perhaps I could take some lessons from somebody. I have added this blog address to my aim screenname( RedStateKansan37@aim.com) so maybe I will get some more feedback now. Hugh, if you are reading this, just wish to let you know that I appreciate your comments and even criticism if you have it. It rained on this beautiful Sunday morning, and life is good. I went to church this evening, and I did not get any traffic tickets this time(ha). I have a court date set for the first part of April for the diversion. Not much fun, but I want to keep a clean record. I have not had cable television in quite some time. I do have a television, but I never watch it. I have taken to watching dvds of my favourite old television shows on my computer. Shows like Chico and the man, Three's Company, that sort of thing. When I had cable, I really only watched two channels, HBO and Courttv. Maybe I would watch The History Channel. I could not understand today's tv shows anyway. I never watched that show American Idol, because it just never held any interest for me. I once tried about 15 minutes of Desperate Housewives, and I got bored. Never again. And I never cared too much for Oprah. What can I say, except that I work. I don't really care too much for today's music, either. LOL, maybe I am just getting old.

Back on track
Hello. My blog is up and working! Yes! Great because I have a lot to say tonight. Today at work, my father handed me some old letters and a keepsake that I made for my grandparents back in 1981. Memories came back to me in little bits and pieces. There is this porcelain Bible that I painted with an inscription on it that I made in Sunday school class in Arkansas. There are some letters save that an eleven year old me sent to my grandparents, written in my eleven year old hand writing in large pencil letters. Somewhat awkward writing, but now that I look back on it, it was pretty good. All of my grandparents are now dead. I miss them very much. Along with those letters and the trinket were some of my old report cards and grade reports from grade school, Jr High , and high school. Looking back, over all, I was not a bad student( B average) . There were progress reports going back as far as 1977. Wow. Time does fly. I was a pretty good student, but a social butterfly I was not. I was VERY painfully shy and awkward and I did not have many friends. Very self conscious back then. I was a day dreamer. Then there were letters that I sent to my family when I was in the hospital for a year and 3 months. Grade school was good. Middle school and Jr High were absolute hell. High School and college were a vast improvement from Middle and Jr High. I graduated from High School in 1987, and then went to Washburn University for a while, then transferred to Kansas State University for a year. That was back in 1991 or 92 I believe. I did not graduate from college, wich is ok by me. I am happy just where I am right now:)

Music
I downloaded some music from walmart.com last night and the night before. I don't really like shopping at walmart, but at 88 cents a song, that price really cannot be beaten. I like every kind of music except for rap. I downloaded Elvis, Amy Grant, Three Dog Night, Marvin Gaye, Joss Stone, and Little Feat among others. I really like gospel music. What kind of music do you folks like? I like AC/DC.. 'You shook me all night long'.. VERY sexy song.. puts me in a good sort of groove:)

Three dog night, Amy Grant, Elvis(LOVED Elvis) ,Marvin Gaye, Little Feat, Lila McCann, and a bunch of others. All legally( I don't steal I am not a thief). I don't particularly like shopping at walmart.com, but at 88 cents a song, that price cant be beaten. What are some of your favourite songs? Singers? Music? I like anything but rap. I hate rap, I refuse to listen to it. It makes no sense to me, but if that is what you like, then hey, it is a free country

I have returned
Ok, From now on, I am going to add to this blog every day. More like every evening. Yes, I know that mine is probably more boring than most, but this is my life right now. Boring, but uncomplicated. I was supposed to meet Dennis tonight for a little romp, but we never did set a time and frankly I am a little too tired right now. Dennis is a nice guy, but just not the marrying type. I rarely ever see him any more. He is on the road a lot, though he lives close by. Honestly, I think that I should just move on. I am thinking of joining some singles clubs at a local church. I like church activities, and it gets me away from the computer. I love my work, and my time alone, but it is nice to get out and meet with people occassionally. Oh yes, I want to say a big HELLO to Hugh. Thanks for leaving the nice, uplifting messages. I really like them. You seem like a very kind hearted person. Thank you.

Today is payday
I got paid today. Tonight I am paying bills, and working my way out of debt. I don't have much in the way of debt, just a car loan, and a little bit on credit cards. The house and everything else is paid for, plus I am putting a little bit away for savings. I even have a Roth IRA that I started a few years ago. Money is one of my favourite subjects. On Saturdays while I am in the office at work, I listen to Dave Ramsey. He is a financial expert that I hear on XM radio. ( Hows that for a plug, huh?) He is a bit of a preacher, and I disagree with him on the issue of credit cards, but all in all, I think that he is pretty good. In listening to him talk to and listen to his callers on the radio, I do get the idea that he does care about people. He has stated that long ago, he was broke, and had big debt (even filed for bankruptcy) twenty some odd years ago, now he is out of debt and trying to help others do the same with this thing called "Total Money Make Over'. Occassionally I also listen to Bruce Williams.

Prolife bumpersticker assumptions
As I was driving home from work the other day, I noticed that the car in front of me had a bumpersticker that said 'Smile.. your parents were Prolife'. I had to laugh because it was so darn funny. How in the hell would anyone know this besides my parents? Your parents ? I believe that the car owners were trying to make some sort of statement here, but I am not exactly sure what the hell it was, because , ( and I am speaking for myself here) I was a wanted pregnancy. My parents CHOSE to give birth. To my brother, sister and I. That would make them ProChoice by default. Prolifers(ok not all but most) sure seem to like to make a lot of assumptions about other people. What they(most) do not seem to understand is that some women CHOOSE to give birth.

Adding
My first and second pap smears hurt like hell and I screamed very loudly if that tells you anything.
I will admit and this thing I am terrified of.
I will admit this. I am over weight. Ok, I am more than over weight, I am obese. I have diabetes. I did go see a doctor about it, a bariatrician that put me on an 800 calorie a day diet, and I did lose a lot of weight, but after doing that for a year, I had to quit because I didn't lose enough, and someone else was paying for it( as a gift) and it was very expensive program. The doctor also had me taking some vitamin supplememnts that I did not like. I had to buy the food there in the office. So I gave up going to that doctor. I still see a regular doctor for physicals and such. I take meds for diabetes. I get discouraged. I was surfing the web tonight and found info on the bariatric surgery called gastric bypass, or something like that. It looks really scary to me. Anything about 'going under the needle' scares me. Anything about surgery and anesthesia scares me. Once I had to have oral surgery done to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed. When I found out that I would have to have a tiny IV inserted, I kind of freaked. The staff at the dental office did calm my worries when I found out. The day of my surgery, just as I was starting to drift off, I was still not quite out of it, I sort of mentally panicked and started having these irrational thoughts'GET THIS THING OUT OF ME'! And it was all I could do to keep from ripping that tiny IV out of my finger. I didn't, but I cannot imagine what would have happened if I had a bigger one in me. I am amazed at other people. I hear women talk about going through childbirth onne day and are up around and walking the next day and chatting. Things like that scare the shit right outta me.(Except regular visits to the dentist which I dont mind) I think that I have a low pain threshhold. Maybe I am crazy, but the idea of any kind of surgery or giving birth scares the hell outta me

From senditout.com
A man walks up to the bar with an ostrich behind him, and as he sits, the bartender asks for their order.
The man says, "I'll have a beer" and turns to the ostrich. "What's yours?" "I'll have a beer too" says the ostrich.
The bartender pours the beer and says "That will be $3.40 please," and the man reaches into his pocket and pays with the exact change for payment.
The next day, the man and the ostrich come again, and the man says "I'll have a beer," and the ostrich says "I'll have the same." Once again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.
This became a routine until late one evening, the two enter again. "The usual?" asks the bartender."Well, it's close to last call, so I'll have a large Scotch" says the man. "Same for me" says the ostrich. "That will be $7.20" says the bartender. Once again the man pulls exact change out of his pocket and places it on the bar.
The bartender can't hold back his curiosity any longer. "Excuse me, sir. How do you manage to always come up with the exact change out of your pocket every time?"
"Well," says the man, "several years ago I was cleaning the attic and I found this old lamp. When I rubbed it a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever needed to pay for anything, I just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money will be there."
"That's brilliant!" says the bartender. "Most people would wish for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!""That's right! Whether it's a gallon of milk, or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there," says the man.
"That's fantastic!" says the bartender. "You are a genius! ... Oh, one other thing sir, what's with the ostrich?"
The man replies, "Oh, my second wish was for a chick with long legs."

Sundays
I love Sundays. They are my favourite day of the week! I especially love Sunday mornings when it rains a lot. I hope that there are a lot of rainy Sunday Mornings this Spring. No hurry mornings where you can sleep in while listening to the sound of the rain hitting the roof.Sleep late, fix breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and orange juice. Yum! Then hit the shower. Watch a little television or surf the internet. Check email, then go back to bed.. St Patrick's Day is coming up. It is one of my favourite holidays, and I hope that it falls on a Sunday. Easter, another one of my favourites, always falls on a Sunday. I love this holiday. I get to spend it with my family and I do not have to worry at all about work. Joy!
